Obituary - Aubray R. Chapman
Goreville – Aubray Ray Chapman, 76, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, April 24,
2008, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2008, in Southern
Illinois Worship Center in Herrin, with Brother Fred Wilson officiating.
Blue Funeral Home in Goreville is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Chapman was born March 30, 1932, in Floodwater, Ark., to William Albert and
Elizabeth (Thresher) Chapman.
He married Velva Ruth Wilson on Dec. 13, 1954, in Flint, Mich. She preceded him
in death May 14, 2004. They shared nearly 50 years of marriage.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa Lynn and Craig Litz of
Fontanna, N.C.; daughter, Vickie Ruth Chapman of Goreville; son Aubray Mark
Chapman and fiancée, Dawn Orsak, of Austin, Texas; daughter, Susan Denise Foskey
of Herrin; grandchildren, Trevor Chapman, Tia Litz, Adam Foskey, Loryn Chapman,
Wauturs Litz, Nicole Foskey and Rebecca O'Connor; and brother, Al Chapman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Velva Ruth.
Aubray served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea.
He attended Southern Illinois Worship Center in Herrin. He was an avid antique
enthusiast and loved to travel.
